Sugaiteobulake Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is (E79°17′30″; N40°50′00″) about 15 kilometers west of Sugetebulak, Xinjiang, was measured in 1957 by Zhang Zhenhua, Gao Zhenjia, and Wei Dingxin, 3rd Squadron, 13th Brigade, Ministry of Geology.

Lithology and Thickness
Compounded sandstones and mudstones dominated by magenta and brick red, including volcanic interlayers and gray-green, gray-white sandstone and quartz sandstone interlayers. The upper part contains multiple layers of limestone. Contains fossils such as micro-paleous plants. 61-894 meters thick.

Additional Information
The Suget layer, named in Xini Village in 1952, includes this formation and the overlying, Qigebulak Fm, Xiaoerbulake Fm, Yuertusi Fm, Awatag Fm and other formations. (later, people aften confused The Suget layer with the Bulaque Formation in Sugai). In 1957, Zhang Zhenhua, Gao Zhenjia and others re-subdivided and defined the lower red sandstone and named it the Sugaiteobulake Fm, which is still in use today.
